Altenauer Runde – Rund um die Fünf-Täler-Stadt

Start: Car park Schultal (L504), north of Altenau town centre. This circular route loops around the entire mountain town of Altenau through valleys, ponds and channels of the UNESCO World Heritage Oberharzer Wasserwirtschaft. Highlights: Okerteich with natural forest swimming pond, Dammgraben along the national park boundary, Kräuterpark Altenau. Dogs can swim in the ponds — ideal summer trail.
