Rundweg Veilchenbrunnen & Schanzen

The Veilchenbrunnen circular trail is Oberhof's most famous and most-walked route, combining impressive nature with the renowned ski jump facilities in the Kanzlersgrund valley. The 9 km route starts at the Oberhof tourist office and leads via Tambacher Straße past the sports hotel to the Schanzenbaude, with spectacular views across the Thuringian Forest. From there you descend past the enormous ski jump towers — a unique experience for dogs and owners alike. The highlight is the Veilchenbrunnen, an authentic Thuringian spring well deep in the forest, where you can take a break at the rustic mountain inn. The return follows the Rennsteig-Dolmar trail back to Oberhof. Well signposted, sturdy footwear recommended.
